Hula Hooping Biography for Emily Yuen

I started hula hooping in July of 2011. I haven’t been able to put it down since. I love hoop dance and all the hooping tricks. It has challenged the right and left hemispheres of my mind to work together and continues to do so as I use multiple hoops at once. I am much more ambidextrous and strong. After learning hula hooping tricks, I picked up a pair of chop sticks and I could use them with ease in my non-dominate hand. I am amazed at how much stronger my core became. Hooping has increased my arm strength as well from the off body hooping tricks. It was exciting to see how this new strength translated to my yoga practice my arm balances are much more steady and long lasting. It is so much easier for me to do poses that involve the core. The cardio I get from one hour of hooping is fantastic. I don’t even know that I am working out as I love it so much. If you love dancing like I do this will be a great edition to your life. Remember I never hooped as a child which means if you are dedicated you too can learn.
